8:00 AM: Leave for your first job.
You will clean an average of 3 houses a day. The duration of the jobs/houses range between 1.5 hours and 4 hours. Either way, you get paid for your time.
You will get a 15-minute lunch in the middle of the day. This time is NOT PAID.
You should get back to the office by 4:30 but depending on the day, no later than 5:00. You will do the laundry at the end of the day which is simply loading the washers and dryers. Regardless of your day, you will get back no later than 5:00 but typically between 4:00 and 4:30.

You can see your schedule the day before. Any days in the future are subject to change, including before you start your day. You should be prepared to work a full day every day. Our goal is to keep you busy so you get 40 hours and as much as 45 hours a week. If you go beyond 40 hours, you get paid time and a half. We are committed to getting all people back to the office no later than 5:00 and often it is 4:00-4:30.

Training & Onboarding Schedule
Most maid companies require experience. We don't because we invest the time and money to train you. No other maid company invests this much in their cleaners, and that's just one example of how we're the best employer for professional cleaners.
Day 1 & 2: Practical Training. All new cleaners start with Practical Training. During these two days of practical training, a trainer will be right by your side. They will demonstrate how to clean a room and then watch & coach you while you clean. We typically clean 3-4 houses a day so in two days you will get one-on-one training for 6-8 houses.
We're looking for Work Speed and Coachability.
Work speed is about moving with purpose and not going slow. Your speed will increase as you learn how we clean but you can't be slow. On a scale of 1-10 with 10 being the fastest, you need to work at an 8 speed. And never sacrifice quality for speed, and you don't have to. We'll teach you the most efficient way to clean so your energy stays high all day. You don't have to work yourself to death, so going too fast is a problem too.
Scroll down this page to watch one of our cleaners cleaning a bathroom. This is the speed we need. It doesn't look fast but it sure ain't slow and watch her transition from one task to another without interruptions. Fast forward the video to about 9 minutes in and watch about 10 minutes of the video.
Coachability is super important. We will teach you, but you have to remember and execute exactly how we teach you. Anyone can learn to be a great cleaner if they apply themselves.
Your first two days of practical training will show us if you can do this job or not. We can tell pretty quickly if you have the raw talent we need. Most people have it. But, if we don't see it, we know it won't be a good fit and your employment will end.
Do you like cleaning and do you want to continue? If you have no experience, we will ask you if you think this is something you want to do. Our goal is to hire people who like/love to clean, but most people don't know if they really like to clean "professionally" until they try it. After a few days, you will know what it's all about for the most part. We clean houses. That's what we do.
Day 3 & 4: Work on a 3-person team. You are cleaning by yourself but on a 3-person team. When you work on a 3-person team you are not in the home as long. These shorter job times help to ease you into the physical requirements of working normal durations and it gives you a few more days to get your work pace to where it needs to be to work on a normal team of 2 cleaners.
Day 5: Work on a 2-person team. You should be ready to work on a team at an appropriate pace.
Day 6: Maid Training Academy's certification program. They are the world leader in home cleaning training. This 8-hour program includes two classes both 4 hours long. It's not hard but it is a lot of information. Everything you learn in these classes we use every day to clean houses.
Regardless of experience, all cleaners are required to complete Professional Cleaner Certification classes. This paid training will help you become a world-class home cleaner. If you have experience, you will be surprised how much you learn. Most veteran cleaners say about 30% of the information was new to them and very valuable. Like we say, if you're good, we'll make you better.
Day 7: Assigned to a Team. Once you are assigned to a team, your Team Leader will continue your training by providing you with written feedback every day.
Day 11: Internal Classes. Back in the classroom to learn more about It's Maid Day, Products we use, cleaning Packages, and other Procedures. Plus an Ethics class, Employee Handbook class, and a Safety Class.
Cleaning is not hard if you have the right training and onboarding experience.

Physical Requirements
If you have never been a professional house cleaner, there are a few things you should know.
-
You don't have to be young. Some of our best cleaners are in their 60's
-
This is an active job. You are constantly moving.
-
Cleaners report they log between 10,000 - 15,000 steps a day when they are cleaning. Health experts suggest you get 10,000 steps a day. You'll get that here.
-
You're NOT going fast, but you sure can't be slow. Most people struggle at first getting to an appropriate professional work pace. Find the video below titled "Cleaning a Bathroom" to see the appropriate pace. It's not fast but notice that she never stops until she is done with the room.
-
You need to eat and snack during the day to fuel your body's increased needs. This is not optional and it's a rookie mistake. You are no different from a professional Athlete. If you don't eat during the day, you will not make it through the day with the energy you need to do a good job and be safe.
-
You will be bending and getting down on one knee throughout the home.
-
The most physical part of this job is running the vacuum cleaner, followed by mopping floors
-
Some of the homes require extended scrubbing like getting soap scum or stains off tubs and showers
-
You will sweat. Our company shirts are NewEra sport shirts, they breathe and are very comfortable
-
You will carry equipment and supplies into a home, and up and down stairs
-
It may take you a month before you physically feel like you can do this job. Watch the video below, straight from our cleaner's own mouth. Once your body gets used to this work, it gets much easier and you can do this work for as long as you want.
A place Professional Cleaners call home
It's hard to believe a place exists that focuses on the success and happiness of its workers. Believe it now.
We have built a cleaning company that puts our people first in everything we do. By putting our people first, our customers get the best maid service in Georgia. It's just that simple. Last year we cleaned over 7,000 Georgia homes from 3 different offices in Kennesaw, Duluth, and Stone Mountain making us the largest maid service company in Georgia.
If you have cleaning experience, you will find many of the problems experienced by other cleaning companies or even by yourself, have been solved. Our goal is to constantly improve so we can always say "We are the best place to work for Professional Cleaners".
We work with our people to reach common goals. Our people are involved in company decisions. We keep everyone in the loop. We listen, and we respond.
And yes, we pay more than anyone else. That's important and we work hard every day to pay our people more than anyone else in the industry. We want our people to stay so compensation and benefits are important.
For these reasons and many more, the best Professional Cleaners in Georgia call It's Maid Day their home.
Big $ Bonuses for Quality
Earn bonuses if you get no complaints in 3 months. $100, the first time, $500 the next 3 times in a year. That's a total of $1,600 a year in bonuses. We already pay more than any other maid service, and on top of that, we reward cleaners who perform at the highest level. We will teach you how to avoid complaints. Once you learn, it becomes easy to earn bonuses every 3 months. These cleaners earned $500 bonuses and so can you.

-
Other BIG Reasons you should Choose Us
There are several BIG reasons why you should choose us as your employer.
-
We don't clean nasty houses
-
If the condition of the home exceeds a certain threshold we decline to clean the home.
-
We are the largest maid service in GA and we tell 1-2 new prospective customers every week that their home is not a good fit for our services. Do they get mad? Yes. Every single time.
-
Do we clean dirty houses? Of course we do, but not nasty. We have a well-defined and widely accepted definition of too nasty.
-
-
We don't tolerate bad customers
-
Customers that hover or watch you the entire time you clean
-
Customers that interrupt beyond reason
-
Customers who argue in their homes with family or friends
-
Customers who raise their voice
-
Rude customers in general
-
Any hostile work environment
-
The list goes on and on. For real.
-
Here is the good news...It's rare to have a bad customer but it can happen.
-
If and when it happens, we have a process to protect our people. We got your back. The office talks to the customer so you don't have to. Once again it doesn't happen often but when it does, we got it.

Individual Cleaners - Working from Home
Unscripted interview with Individual Cleaners who Work From Home for It's Maid Day. Listen to the unscripted answers as cleaners are interviewed about their experiences working from home and cleaning homes by themselves in comparison to cleaning on a team of cleaners.
If you are interested in being a Work From Home cleaner with It's Maid Day, this is a must-watch video. This is the highest paying job in the company. Starting pay $20/hr plus tips and bonuses. Earn up to $30/hr with annual pay increases. You are a real employee and not 1099 contract labor. This is the best deal in Georgia.
The top reasons why people get fired
Wow. Why would any employer try to recruit people by talking about getting fired? As mentioned before, we are not the typical maid company. We are the largest in Georgia because we do a lot of things differently and better than any other maid company.
Our turnover rate is 1/3 of the industry average. We are the place people stay longer than any other maid company. We have employees who have been with us since the beginning and lots of cleaners have told us, this is the best place they have ever worked. We are always looking for ways to improve and encourage feedback all the time so we can always be the best place to work for professional home cleaners.
Top Reasons Cleaners Get Fired or Quit
-
Attendance. 90% of our turnover comes from attendance problems. Although we have the most liberal time-off policy, not just in the maid business but any business, it's still the main reason people leave or get fired. We provide new employees 20 days (4 weeks) their first year. Wow, 20? Yes 20. Most employers will give you 8-10 days your first year. We give you 20 on an accrual basis. If you divide 20 days by 12 months, you get 1.67 days, or 13.28 hours each month. Every month you get an additional 13 hours to add to your available time off. That is about 2 days a month. If you need more than 2 days a month then don't apply for Full Time. Part-Time employees still have limits on calling out. What we need are dependable and reliable workers who can stay within our liberal and generous time off plan. If you can do that, then you can usually stay as long as you want.
-
Work Pace, Quality, Coachability. About 10% of our turnover comes from people who work slow, have a hard time seeing and cleaning detailed, or not following all of our instructions on delivering high-quality cleaning. These issues are usually with people who have never cleaned before. It takes 2-4 weeks to learn how to clean at a high level. Once you learn it, you got it. The job becomes easy. It's still hard work like any job is. You have to concentrate, not skip tasks and check your work closely.
-
Don't like cleaning houses professionally. The reason why most maid companies only hire people with experience is that people don't really know if they like cleaning houses professionally until they do it for a few weeks. Most of our turnover is with inexperienced people in the first 4 weeks. To bad because they are just about at the point where things click and the job gets easier. Also, this is not the same as cleaning your own house or a friend's house or even a few customers on the side. This is hard work, just like any job. You are on a time schedule that is doable, but you can't be slow. We clean more than any other maid company and at the highest quality standards. We are looking for people who take pride in their work, like/love cleaning, and can appreciate all the little things we do for our people that makes our company the best place to work for professional cleaners. That's why our customers love their service and why we are the largest in Georgia and continue to grow.
Company Cars or Drive Your Own - Your Choice
Our teams drive company cars. They are well maintained. Team Leaders drive the car and must have a good driving record. We have GPS tracking on all cars that monitor and report driving like speeding, sharp turns, and harsh breaking. The safety of our employees is most important.
Work From Home cleaners drive their own car and get reimbursed every Friday for gas based on the miles driven the previous week. Work From Home cleaners are our highest paid cleaners and clean 2 Recurring Customer homes a day by themselves. Click here for more details on this premium position.
